Follow our step-by-step guide to learn how to measure your torso length.
Locate the C7 vertebra by gently tilting your head forward and feeling for the small bump where your neck meets your shoulders. Then find the iliac crest by placing your hands on your hips and sliding them upward to the top ridge of your hip bones.
Using a measuring tape, hold one end at the C7 vertebra, the small bump at the base of your neck. With your other hand, slide your thumb from the top of your hip bone (iliac crest) toward the centre of your lower back. Where your thumb meets the tape is your torso length.
Bring the tape around to your front while holding the marked spot. The number directly above your thumb (the marked point) is your torso/back length.
